il bel paese explores memory, belonging and the gradual disappearance of a rural country. through the faces and stories of those who remain, the project looks at depopulation and the fragile traditions of communities slowly fading away — while reflecting on the strange feeling of returning to a place that is still home, yet no longer feels quite the same.
